Desk Pal
New, original and brandable promotional product
This mind map lists potential themes for the promotional product and existing products currently available. My solution was to try and merge existing functions together into a new bespoke product that fulfills the brief.
Market research illustrated to me how big the Home & Office market is and in particular Desk Gifts and items. As the graphs above show, Desk Gifts received more customers actively selecting a product from a search containing multiple items. This market is also the most valuable at £92million.

All data found from the BPMA website.
The two functions in the design concept above is a mobile phone holder and stationary pot. To keep manufacturing costs low, the product consists of one component to be manufactured.

The product is formed through heating polypropylene up and bending it around a jig to achieve a consistent shape everytime. A low cost method of manufacture enables this to be a perfect giveaway promotional product for companies.
Potential relevant brands can range from stationary suppliers and mobile phone and network providers. With polypropylene readily available in a range of colours, each company can customise their products to match their brands.
Desk Pal gives you the ability to organise your mobile phone together with your pens and pencils so they are always located together whether on your desk, bedside table or other area of the home and office.

It is a great promotional product for companies due to its low cost to manufacture.
